Carol Moseley Braun, Ambassador of Good Health!
I’ve always known there was something more to Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun than politics, and boy was I right! I had the pleasure of interviewing her at the recent All Things Organic conference and trade show at McCormick Place in Chicago, and we actually have a lot in common.
Anyone who knows me, also knows that for the past 20 something years, I’ve been an advocate for natural, holistic and good-for-you foods. And lately that has spilled over to my outlook on life as well. But for me, that’s easy enough to do, because in my own extroverted way, I am still an introvert when it comes to taking care of myself, after all your body is your temple.
I’m
not sure if Ambassador Moseley Braun knew this would be her calling
‘long time ago when she spent summers on her great-grand
parents’ farm, which by the way, has been in her family since
1870. But while the crops were growing around her, a seed was planted
within her that would later blossom into what she calls
Ambassador Organics.
Ambassador Organics’ philosophy is to bring together the soil, planet and people in harmony with one another. Moseley Braun sees health and nutrition as a continuum of quality of life.
Here is a snapshot of what we talked about:
AJ: Tell me about Ambassador Organics.
CMB: We’re really three companies in one. Our approach is based on Biodynamics, holistic principles of nature. We are focused on getting ideas out about the concept, that is honoring and nurturing the land; something our ancestors did while they were farming the land. We also want to expand access to healthily food.
AJ: What does Biodynamics do differently?
CMB: Biodynamics produces foods that are high-quality and natural, including kosher foods that are natural without additives.
AJ: How long has Ambassador Organics been in existence?
CMB: We started a year and a half ago. Our product line will launch in the fall.
Ambassador Moseley Braun served as Ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa, United States Senator from Illinois, County Executive Officer, State Representative and Assistant United States Attorney.
